Terms of Business

PLEASE NOTE: As Aotea Health is under new ownership and management, any prior arrangements or understandings regarding non-payment of fees are replaced by the following terms and conditions.

Our consultation fees are displayed in the waiting room and on this website.  They apply to ALL users of the Health Centre and Nurse’s Clinic.

All prices include GST – unless otherwise stated .

The fees list may be adjusted from time to time; e.g. in instances where cost of goods increase, or government surcharges increase or decrease. If this happens the fees lists will be updated to reflect this and we will communicate these changes widely.

Casual Patients

If you are not enrolled/registered with our practice, but need to see a Nurse or GP/NP the consultation fees will be higher and you will be expected to pay before your consult.

Fees are displayed here or on the noticeboard in the clinic.

If you want to enrol with Aotea Health, we welcome you, but until your funding is confirmed, (from 4-8 weeks) you will be charged the full, unfunded “casual’ fee.

Registered Patients

Unless otherwise agreed, all services shall be paid for on the date of service. You can pay using:

  • Cash
  • EFTPOS
  • Credit Card
  • Internet Banking
  • Regular Automatic Payment (enrolled, Island-based patients only)

Agreed Payment Terms

We understand that times are tough and some people are doing it hard. If you are having difficulty in paying for your health care, please talk to one of the team and tell them so. They will be able to help you and advise you on some options. Cost should not be a barrier to you accessing the health care that you need.

Some island-based registered patients may choose to pay by regular (weekly or fortnightly) automatic payments.  For some, the payments are as little as $5 a week and that is all they need to pay to cover their costs for the year. Some pay more, some less, depending on how often they need to access health services. Ideally, the payments should  be enough to cover your account each year.

Apart from those paying by regular, automatic payments, where it is agreed that payment need not be made on the day of service, it must be paid within 30 days, following the date of invoice. If the invoice is not paid in full, a $10.00 administration fee will be applied to all accounts.

No contractor or staff member of Aotea Health may agree to any terms other than those written here.

Aotea Health reserves the right to limit access to “emergency-only services” where there are any well-overdue accounts. If you are the account holder for other members of your family, those limits may be extended to them as well, or to “payment-before-consult” until the account is settled.

All costs related to the collection of unpaid accounts that proceed to debt collection will be paid by the patient and the costs will be added to the account.

All travel vaccines must be paid for in advance before we order them from the supplier, because we have to pay the supplier in advance.

Cancellations

Both clinics can get very busy, particularly during the summer months and it becomes harder to get an appointment on the day. Therefore, it is really important that you let us know as soon as possible, if you aren’t going to make it to your appointment. That way, with a bit of warning we can give the appointment slot to someone else.

If you simply don’t turn up and don’t let us know at least 2 hours before the appointment time, you may be charged for the appointment anyway.
